Matthew Perry iniciou a carreira em seriados de tv, estrelando 240-Robert, Charles in Charge, Silver Spoons e Second Chance . No entanto, o papel de maior sucesso foi Chandler Bing, do seriado Friends , gravado entre 1994 e 2004.
A produção lhe rendeu uma indicação ao Emmy como melhor ator coadjuvante em série de comédia em 2002, além de fama em nível mundial.
Matthew participou ainda da série Go On , da qual foi protagonista no papel do locutor esportivo Ryan King. O último trabalho de Perry foi em 2017, na minissérie The Kennedys After Camelot .
O ator ainda lançou uma autobiografia no ano ado, com título Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing (Amigos, amantes e a grande coisa terrível , em tradução livre).
