É o que propõem astrônomos da Escandinávia em um novo estudo: segundo eles, estes objetos podem servir como câmeras pinhole, permitindo a observação do eclipse de forma fácil e mais divertida.</p>
<p class="texto">No artigo, eles explicam que, para fins astronômicos, a óptica das bolas de espelho é parecida com aquelas das câmeras estenopeicas, ou pinhole. Elas costumam ser usadas como um meio de observar eclipses solares sem colocar a retina em risco: a luz solar atravessa a abertura da câmera e a imagem do fenômeno é projetada em uma superfície, evitando a observação direta da luz.</p>

<p class="texto">Já no caso das bolas de espelho, os autores descrevem que elas são como coleções de "espelhos de cabeça de alfinete", ou espelhos planos parecidos com aqueles em câmeras fotográficas. Por isso, cada pedacinho de espelho nas bolas atua como o equivalente refletivo da abertura de uma câmera pinhole.</p>
<p class="texto">As câmeras pinhole são alternativas seguras e de baixo custo para a observação de eclipses solares ou manchas solares, mas só podem ser usadas por uma pessoa de cada vez. Para os autores, as bolas espelhadas podem ter função semelhante — e ainda trazem a vantagem de permitir que várias pessoas vejam juntas as imagens projetadas do eclipse.</p>

<p class="texto">Para testar a ideia, os autores colocaram um globo de espelhos em uma coluna no centro de uma sala de uma universidade. O objeto ficou ali entre março e maio de 2023, e mostrou bons resultados: além de refletir imagens do Sol em toda a sala, a bola espelhada chamou a atenção de quem visitou a instituição. "Acreditamos que as bolas de espelho são ferramentas versáteis e engajadoras para propósitos educacionais", escreveram.</p>

Pesquisadores da Escandinávia sugerem que globos de espelho podem ser usados para observações seguras de eclipses solares, servindo como câmeras pinhole 2p1y16
O eclipse solar está chegando, e para acompanhar o fenômeno em segurança, vale usar até bolas de espelho como aquelas nas discotecas. É o que propõem astrônomos da Escandinávia em um novo estudo: segundo eles, estes objetos podem servir como câmeras pinhole, permitindo a observação do eclipse de forma fácil e mais divertida.
No artigo, eles explicam que, para fins astronômicos, a óptica das bolas de espelho é parecida com aquelas das câmeras estenopeicas, ou pinhole. Elas costumam ser usadas como um meio de observar eclipses solares sem colocar a retina em risco: a luz solar atravessa a abertura da câmera e a imagem do fenômeno é projetada em uma superfície, evitando a observação direta da luz.
Já no caso das bolas de espelho, os autores descrevem que elas são como coleções de "espelhos de cabeça de alfinete", ou espelhos planos parecidos com aqueles em câmeras fotográficas. Por isso, cada pedacinho de espelho nas bolas atua como o equivalente refletivo da abertura de uma câmera pinhole.
As câmeras pinhole são alternativas seguras e de baixo custo para a observação de eclipses solares ou manchas solares, mas só podem ser usadas por uma pessoa de cada vez. Para os autores, as bolas espelhadas podem ter função semelhante — e ainda trazem a vantagem de permitir que várias pessoas vejam juntas as imagens projetadas do eclipse.
Para testar a ideia, os autores colocaram um globo de espelhos em uma coluna no centro de uma sala de uma universidade. O objeto ficou ali entre março e maio de 2023, e mostrou bons resultados: além de refletir imagens do Sol em toda a sala, a bola espelhada chamou a atenção de quem visitou a instituição. "Acreditamos que as bolas de espelho são ferramentas versáteis e engajadoras para propósitos educacionais", escreveram.
